From the competition’s Q & A: Aside from the Daredevil suit you are wearing, what other suits do you like?

A: "I answered with Daredevil's costume from Frank Miller's Man Without Fear, which in that graphic novel was a retelling of Matthew Murdock's origin story."

"The character dawned a makeshift casual outfit wearing a blindfold mask, black hoodie, and sweat pants to save somebody, which marks the beginning of his vigilantism to protect his city of Hell's Kitchen, New York."

Q: What made you choose the Daredevil's costume and that hero in particular?

A: "I chose that costume of Daredevil because it was the one I can do the most justice with the current skills I have now."

"I chose Daredevil in particular because out of all the comic book heroes I've loved and enjoyed he was the one that resonated with me the most as a person."

"Daredevil compared to most heroes is literally just a guy... he doesn't have super strength, flight, invulnerability, and etc. Daredevil is a man who refuses to give up even when he faces the harshest of difficulties he always gets up and never backs down."

"For me, he truly is the man without fear."

For NATC, this Bronze medal is particularly meaningful as it was achieved by their single participant in her very first international competition, underscoring the quality and focus of the center's specialized training programs.

What makes this achievement truly exceptional is that the young medalist, Phoebe Bajacan, was an absolute beginner in the competitive arena when she first enrolled in NATC’s Maths Competition Program. Compounding this challenge, her preparation time was remarkably short before the official TIMO Heat Round 2025. Stepping into the world of Math Olympiads for the first time, she exhibited tremendous potential but initially required intensive, targeted practice to quickly bridge the gap. NATC’s strategy was uniquely tailored to her compressed timeline and beginner status: the center first conducted a precise diagnostic to identify her least mastered skills, immediately focusing on strengthening those weak points. This foundation-building phase was followed by rapid exposure to the diverse problem types and styles of international math competition contents, effectively broadening her competitive scope. The final, crucial step involved concentrated training using the specific TIMO curriculum and topics. This patient, targeted, and sequential approach, executed in a short window and powered by the dedication of Phoebe, her trainers, and her supportive parents, ensured that she was fully equipped with the confidence and strategic thinking required to emerge as a Bronze medalist on her global debut.

The competition, which brought together some of the brightest young mathematical minds in the country, was held on September 7, 2025, and hosted by PEN, Inc.

Jack’s success is more than just an award; it’s a powerful testament to the passion and dedication he harbors for mathematics. This victory is his own, earned through countless hours of hard work, unwavering persistence, and a true love of learning that inspires everyone around him.
